Exhibition “Collection of Stories – HER[AI]TAGE Project” Opened in Lendava

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the exhibition “Collection of Stories – HER[AI]TAGE Project” was officially opened in the exhibition space of the Lendava Cultural Centre. It presents the results of an international project aimed at preserving intangible cultural heritage through the application of modern digital technologies.

The opening was attended by numerous visitors, representatives of cultural institutions, and the media, including Janez Magyar, Mayor of the Municipality of Lendava, and Judit Zagorec Czsuka, Director of the Library – Cultural Centre Lendava.

Đanino Kutnjak, President of the Union of Croatian Societies in Slovenia and President of the Croatian Cultural Society Pomurje, spoke about the exhibition and the project. In his address, he pointed out that the HER[AI]TAGE project connects tradition and artificial intelligence in a modern way, enabling the permanent preservation of oral traditions, memories, and the cultural heritage of local communities. He emphasized that the exhibition features 36 authentic stories collected in Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, which testify to the richness of the shared cultural heritage and the identity of the people from these regions.

Visitors had the opportunity to view the digital collection of stories, learn about the methods of their collection and digital processing, and experience the valuable intangible cultural heritage of the three countries involved in the project through multimedia content.

The HER[AI]TAGE project is implemented by the following partners: the Kultivator Association from Croatia, the Public Open University Čakovec (Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec), the Croatian Cultural Society Pomurje from Slovenia, and the Novi Sad City Library from Serbia. The organizer of the exhibition in Lendava was the Croatian Cultural Society Pomurje.

The exhibition remains open until July 31, 2026. All interested parties are invited to visit the exhibition space of the Lendava Cultural Centre and discover the stories that preserve the identity of local communities and connect cultural heritage across national borders.
