The Mura was clean. We swam in the Mura. We truly enjoyed it. And we grazed cows and picked strawberries. These were the best wild strawberries, sweet and fragrant. Every house had at least one or two [cows]. First, it was a source of food. They gave milk, cheese and butter (‘puter’) were made from the milk. The milk was sold to the cooperative, and it was a source of income. Cows pulled, plowed; cows did everything.
