On ‘Ivanje’ (St. John’s Day) we have a blessing. At our place, we are the first village from the Mura, and every year there were big, big floods on St. John’s Day. And so the people prepared and celebrated and prayed to Saint John the Baptist to help them. We don’t have his statue in our church, but because of these events, we took him as our primary saint. We honor him and pray to him to help us with floods.
