HER[AI]TAGE Project Has Officially Begun

The HER[AI]TAGE project has officially started, bringing together partners from Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia to explore how artificial intelligence can support the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.

Over the next 18 months, the project will focus on documenting oral histories from communities along the Mura, Drava, and Danube rivers. These stories, rich in traditional ecological knowledge and cultural heritage, will be collected, transcribed, and digitally archived. Selected narratives will be transformed into AI-enhanced storytelling experiences, combining text, illustrations, and audio to make them accessible to a wider audience.

In addition to preserving cultural heritage, HER[AI]TAGE will provide adult educators with tools and training to integrate AI into their teaching. A dedicated e-learning platform will offer resources on ethical AI use, digital storytelling, and heritage education, ensuring that technology serves as a bridge between past and future.

The project will also develop an interactive online exhibit, allowing visitors to engage with the collected stories in an immersive digital environment. Through strategic dissemination and collaboration, HER[AI]TAGE aims to create a network of educators, researchers, and cultural professionals dedicated to innovative heritage preservation.

More updates on project activities, milestones, and events will follow soon!
